Dr. Trevor Watson’s insatiable curiosity and itchy feet have led him to travel and work in many parts of the world — the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia and the South Pacific.
He’s as keen as ever to explore the world’s unusual places and to report on what he’s seen, whom he’s met, and what he’s learned, thought and felt along the way.
Born in Toronto, he developed an interest in travel soon after he could crawl. He was educated in eastern Canada. He practised family medicine for over 40 years, and has a keen interest in psychology and philosophy. He has been a committed Christian since a near-death experience at age 31.
In 2016 he published Straddling the Hound — The Curious Charms of Long-Distance Bus Travel, a unique account of four long US bus journeys he’d recently made. It’s been called “an off-beat ramble through America”. It is highly rated on Amazon.
He and his physician wife, Cynthia, have been married 46 adventurous years. They have two children and four grandchildren. They all live near one another on Vancouver Island, Canada.
